Jacada, Mynd Meld on Web-Based Insurance Applications

Mynd (Columbia, S.C.), an application software provider to the insurance and related financial services industry, has partnered with e-business infrastructure provider Jacada Ltd. (Atlanta) to deliver Web-based insurance applications.

Under terms of the agreement, Mynd is licensing Jacada for Java and Jacada Innovator to provide integrated, unified graphical Internet access to several of its core insurance application products.

“We selected Jacada based on its leadership position in the market and its proven ability to rapidly browser-enable AS/400 applications,” says Ray August, Mynd senior VP. “Mynd needed a vendor that automated the delivery of an open, cross-platform graphical user interface that enables the company to integrate best-of-breed components of our insurance application offerings to provide our customers unparalleled functionality and service.”

Jacada Innovator, a new addition to the Jacada family of products, will allow Mynd’s application developers to easily deliver Internet applications and provide architecture to enable the portability of mainframe and AS/400 applications to NT servers.

“In addition to giving us a robust, browser-enabled user interface, Jacada Innovator will enable us to migrate our industry leading applications to multiple computing platforms,” says Levern Gerald, VP of Mynd.

Formerly known as Policy Management Systems Corp., Mynd has more than 1,000 customers in the United States and in more than 30 countries.
