Midrange software distributor AppsMall.com (Rochester, Minn., new window) is enhancing its e-business portfolio with the announcement that it will now be offering Touchtone Corporation’s (Costa Mesa, Calif.) ThinView product.

A Java-based, Web-to-host e-business connectivity tool, ThinView allows secure browser access to AS/400 applications and data from anywhere. Using ThinView, end-users can deploy their 5250-based applications across their intranets, extranets and the Internet in a quick and secure fashion.

“For many who have yet to invest in the wholesale restructuring of their systems, ThinView offers a route to e-business in rapid time,” says Charlie Harter, executive VP of sales and marketing for AppsMall.com. “Existing applications such as inventory inquiries, order backlog inquiries and order entry can be made instantly available to authorized sales reps, customers and suppliers regardless of their physical location.”

For Touchtone, an AS/400-specific ISV, the agreement with AppsMall.com, adds another market for its growing ThinView product. “We are excited by the opportunities AppsMall.com offers us,” says Bruce Friesen, marketing manager, Touchtone. “We hope that the strengths of ThinView—its ease of implementation and its performance over the Web—will make it a standard toolkit for AppsMall.com’s solution providers.”
