Request4bid.com (Bellevue, Wash.), an e-marketplace for corporate I.T., is bringing AS/400 buyers and vendors together with the announcement that it is adding IBM AS/400 servers to its Request4bid.com site e-catalog.
The new e-marketplace—which utilizes a reverse auction format—will provide participating third party AS/400 hardware vendors with another sales channel and end-users with another means to purchase AS/400 servers. In addition, the marketplace will also offer AS/400 associated storage and peripherals.
Corporate buyers of I.T. hardware can purchase various AS/400 models including: 150, 170 and the Domino-compatible 170 DSD for small businesses; 720 for large departments and medium businesses; and 730/740 and SB1 for large enterprises.
"The Request4bid.com marketplace offers a robust catalog that saves buyers of I.T. hardware time and money," said Douglas J. Beighle, president and CEO of Request4bid.com. "The first AS/400 peripheral auction saved the buyer 46 percent off the IBM list price."
Request4bid.com offers other IBM products, including the IBM RS/6000 series and peripherals.
