SERENA Software Inc. (Burlingame, Calif.) will release a version of its eChange Man product on AS/400 later this year, making it the first provider to offer change management software on every IBM platform, according to SERENA and IBM representatives.

“Our clients, facing increasingly competitive landscapes across diverse industries, operate numerous computing environments incorporating multiple IBM operating systems,” says Mark Woodward, president and CEO at SERENA. “We recognize the importance of the AS/400 platform and the value of providing a single point of control to manage change across all IBM platforms to improve the quality and speed of e-business initiatives.”

SERENA’s change management product offers low bandwidth, open architecture, integration with popular integrated development environments, and broad multiplatform capability. Change Man is designed to provide single point of control for managing software changes to e-business applications running across all major platforms to improve deployment time, reliability and quality while reducing costs.

eChange Man for AS/400 is expected to be available in the third quarter of this year. Currently, SERENA’s Change Man solution runs on OS/390 MVS environments, and eChange Man provides a software change management infrastructure for Web, Windows, Windows NT, MPE/iX and Unix environments, including HP-UX, AIX, Sun Solaris and Linux.
