International Consulting Group Adds LANSA to Web Initiative
International Consulting Group (ICG, Miami, Fla.), a company that specializes in AS/400 development, has announced an addition to its e-business portfolio by partnering with LANSA Inc., a provider of development tools and services for IBM AS/400, e-business and graphical applications. ICG will be using LANSA for the Web to help its customers leverage legacy applications and provide rapid deployment of new Internet applications.
“We plan to train our entire staff in LANSA over the next 12 months,” says Eduardo Gross, VP at ICG. “The demand for Web development over the next five years will be tremendous, and we plan on servicing our customers. Using LANSA will allow us to develop Web applications rapidly, while leveraging existing AS/400 data. Time-to-market and costs are big concerns of our customers, and LANSA addresses both of those issues.”
Three years ago, LANSA began its third-party channel initiative, providing Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and consultants with its suite of development tools. That strategy has paid off, as its partner list has grown from the original 20 to over 120, and those partners were responsible for a record 55 percent of software revenue during the first quarter of 2000.
“Our partners are one of the main reasons our growth over the last few years has been so strong and so consistent,” says Bill Benjamin, VP of business development at LANSA. “ICG has an outstanding presence in South Florida as a full service information technology solution provider and IBM Premier Business Partner. They have over 40 developers with AS/400 and Domino experience. Adding LANSA to their portfolio will help them deliver mission critical transaction-based e-business applications to their customers. We’re very glad to have them on board as a LANSA Solution Partner.”
