PentaSafe Acquires BrainTree, Plans Expansion of Security Solutions

PentaSafe Security Technologies, Inc. (Houston, Texas), a developer of enterprise IT risk management, auditing, security, and intrusion detection software, announced it has acquired privately held BrainTree Security Software (Norwell, Mass.), a provider of database security software solutions.

BrainTree is a proven leader in the growing database security market, and this acquisition allows us to immediately offer our customers a broad, robust security solution.”

PentaSafe plans to integrate BrainTree’s technology into its VigilEnt Security Management Solution within the next few months. The company, which was founded in 1997, currently provides security management for Windows NT/2000, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Linux and IBM AS/400, and has more than 1,500 customers worldwide.

BrainTree provides relational database security solutions for Internet and client/server applications; over 250 Fortune 1,000 class customers are currently using its solutions.
