Trend Micro’s ScanMail Receives ICSA Certification for Lotus Notes
Fredrik Johnsen
Trend Micro Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.), a provider of enterprise anti-virus and content security, announced its anti-virus solution for Lotus Notes, ScanMail v2.0, has earned the ICSA Certification for Notes by the Anti-Virus Product Developers Consortium. To achieve this certification, products have to detect 100% of the “in the wild” viruses in On-Access and On-Demand conditions.
"Given the increase in virus encounters through email, it's imperative that security products are designed for comprehensive virus detection and management solutions suited to the structure of the enterprise environment," said Larry Bridwell, content security program manager at ICSA Labs. "Our certifications take the guesswork out of determining the effectiveness of products like Trend Micro's ScanMail."
ScanMail for Lotus Notes provides the only anti-virus support for Lotus Domino on Windows NT, AS/400 and S/390 IBM platforms, AIX and Sun Solaris. The program detects and removes viruses hidden in databases and attachments before they can reach the desktop.
ICSA sets standards for commercial security products and provides independent and objective cross-industry product certification programs.
Pricing for Trend Micro’s ScanMail is on a per seat/volume basis and SRP is $16.50/seat for a 1,000-seat license.
