HP Joins BITS Security Lab
HP has become the latest corporate partner of the BITS Financial Services Financial Security Laboratory. The Security Lab is part of BITS, the Technology Group for The Financial Services Roundtable, which was created in 1996 to drive secure e-commerce in an open environment for the benefit of financial institutions. The BITS Security Lab provides an opportunity for financial institutions and technology providers to work together on such issues as aggregation and wireless transactions, global technologies and standards, and privacy and security requirements.
In announcing the news, Roberto Medrano, general manager of HP's Internet Security Solutions Division, said that HP's partnership with BITS will give his company additional resources with which to address the needs of users in financial services and healthcare—industries key to HP's overall security strategy.
HP's Internet Security Solutions Division offers the HP Praesidium product portfolio, which includes trusted Web server platforms, Web access and authorization managers, extranet Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and firewalls.
