New Ad Campaign Touts Benchmark Results
Joanna Doyle
As part of its effort to promote the recent benchmark breakthroughs of the newly released AS/400 840, IBM this month launched a new ad campaign detailing the benchmark results, which will be run in more than a dozen publications nationwide.
Given the frequent criticism of IBM’s AS/400 marketing efforts, IBM representatives say the company hopes this national campaign will help to demonstrate their commitment to the platform.
Earlier this summer, IBM released the results of benchmark testing, which showed the new AS/400 ranked number one in TPC-C, NotesBench, SPECjbb2000 and VolanoMark. The new ad, which initially ran in USA Today and The Wall Street Journal last week, will also appear in several midrange trade publications and general interest IT magazines.
