SoftQuad Software Joins WAP Forum to Advance XML Delivery

SoftQuad Software Ltd. (Toronto), a developer of XML enabling technologies and commerce solutions for e-business, has joined the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Forum to advance the delivery of XML content to mobile users.
The WAP Forum is an industry association that has developed a defacto world standard for wireless information and telephony services on digital mobile phones and wireless terminals.
“With more than 100 million wireless users today, and that number growing daily, there’s an enormous demand for content that can be delivered over WAP enabled devices,” says Robert Drassinower, president and CEO of SoftQuad. “XML is becoming the dominant format for exchanging content over wireless devices, and our experience in XML and XML content creation solutions will help content providers deliver entirely new services to mobile users.”
WAP Forum has over 500 members and represents approximately 90 percent of the global handset market. The members include carriers with over 100 million subscribers, leading infrastructure providers, software developers and other organizations in the wireless industry.
SoftQuad is a developer of XML-enabling technologies and solutions for e-business. The company is targeting the growing B2B marketplace with its MarketAgility solution, allowing companies to effectively join and compete in B2B-markets.
