Continuing to enhance and improve its security solutions portfolio, Hewlett-Packard has teamed up with Baltimore Technologies in announcing its end-to-end Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solution. This new solution combines HP’s consulting and integration services with Baltimore’s UniCERT Technology.

“Our PKI offering integrates Baltimore's and HP's security products with HP's world-class business consulting and system-integration services for quality delivery worldwide. The result is a pre-integrated, industry-tailored e-security solution for Internet applications including secure WAP," says Roberto Medrano, general manager of HP's Internet Security Solutions Division. "This, combined with Baltimore's implementation methods, will ensure reliable and rapid PKI infrastructure deployment for our customers."

Working with Baltimore Technologies, HP has added security enhancements to its Certificate Management System, a critical component of a PKI, by securing it with HP’s Praesidium VirtualVault server software and porting it to HP-UX. This integration enables HP to offer security for e-commerce applications, a growing need for many companies.

Along with the introduction of its new PKI solution, HP also announced that HP consultants will deploy the Praesidium-secured PKI systems using Baltimore’s KeySteps Methodology to ensure a high-level of protection for e-business applications.

"Baltimore's KeySteps methodology saves time and reduces the cost of implementing an e-security infrastructure. We are delighted that HP has chosen this leading PKI implementation methodology to accelerate the deployment of secure e-commerce," says Aidan Gallagher, executive VP of Business Development at Baltimore Technologies. "Baltimore and HP have continued to work closely together following our strategic OEM agreement earlier this year. This further integration of solutions demonstrates our commitment to this alliance and to meeting customers' needs."
