Friedman Corporation (Deerfield, Ill.), a provider of integrated software solutions for the make-to-order, configuration-based manufacturing marketplace, has announced the acquisition of First Systech (Scottsdale, Ariz.), a provider of integrated NT and UNIX application software solutions for the configuration-based ERP market, primarily the door and window fabrication market.
“This acquisition allows us to expand our vertical market dominance by providing an integrated solution across all platforms, which has been a requirement of many manufacturers in the configuration-based marketplace,” says Craig Yamauchi, president of Friedman Corporation. “As we move forward, both the Frontier and Systech applications will be positioned as a solution for new customers, as well as providing our existing Frontier AS/400 customers an option to deploy an NT, UNIX or AS/400 solution as they continue to expand their manufacturing operations domestically or internationally.
As part of the acquisition, Friedman retains First Systech’s technical development, customer support and implementation staff, combining their application development experience with existing Friedman resources to deploy and integrate new and existing product lines.
Friedman Corporation’s parent company, Constellation Software, is a subsidiary of the Ontario Municipal Employee Retirement System (OMERS), the third largest pension fund in Canada, with assets of over $35 billion.
