DIA Renews InfoWorkSpace Contract

General Dynamics Electronic Systems, a subsidiary of General Dynamics will provide its InfoWorkSpace online collaboration software and support for up to 5,000 defense and national intelligence users under a $2.4 million renewal of the Defense Intelligence Agency's Joint Collaborative Environment (JCE) contract.

The DIA exercised the third option year of the JCE contract with General Dynamics and BAE/Synectics. This move more than doubles the number of seats available to analysts and other intelligence professionals. InfoWorkSpace, developed by General Dynamics Electronic Systems, is an online collaboration suite that includes voice-over-IP, text chat, desktop video conferencing, whiteboards and virtual file storage.

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), through its Joint Intelligence Virtual Architecture program, provides military and other federal intelligence agencies with online collaboration and knowledge-management technologies. Under the contract, General Dynamics will provide licenses for up to 5,000 seats and provide software integration, troubleshooting, engineering and technical support. In addition, General Dynamics will provide LaunchPad, a companion instant-messaging application, for up to 40,000 users.
