In response to eroding trust of corporations' accounting practices, a network appliance designed to automatically secure enterprise network data and keep it forensically viable was introduced by Perimeter Data Inc.
SigNet (short for Signature Network) Audit and Compliance Server is a self-contained network appliance that allows for documentation surrounding management decisions, changes and approvals to be tracked and information saved so that it meets federal rules of evidence.
The SigNet server archives such transactions in a permanent, encrypted format that will trigger an automatic notification to appropriate personnel. This type of archiving will prevent any chance of "digital shredding"the inappropriate deletion of electronic documents and files.
Perimeter Data's SigNet Audit and Compliance Server uses a combination of proprietary cryptographic technologies with embedded software and secure global positioning systems to automatically encrypt and digitally sign more than 1,000 files per second. The SigNet engine is made up of several components, including a network appliance, secure archive, Java-based administrative interface and a network or Web server.
