Kroll Ontrack Introduces PowerControls Version 2.0
New version helps slash restore time and offers improved features for Microsoft Exchange systems
Kroll Ontrack Inc., provider of Ontrack Data Recovery products and services and a wholly owned subsidiary of Kroll Inc. (NASDAQ: KROL), today released Ontrack PowerControls 2.0, an upgraded mailbox recovery software tool to restore individual mailboxes, messages, folders, attachments and other elements from existing backup Microsoft Exchange Server database (.EDB) files.
PowerControls 2.0 introduces enhanced features for Microsoft Exchange systems including enhanced searching capabilities, support for Exchange server log files and new ExtractWizard agents that make PowerControls 2.0 a more versatile tool. ExtractWizard is an important feature of PowerControls that allows users to restore an online backup to any alternate location that is not an Exchange server, helping to save valuable time in the restore process. The PowerControls ExtractWizard is designed to work together with existing Exchange backup software, such as Veritas BackupExec, Legato Networker, Computer Associates BrighStor ARCserve and Microsoft NT Backup. The feature eliminates the need for a duplicate Exchange Server, otherwise known as a Recovery Server, to perform the restore of an online backup.
