Orlando, Florida, October 27, 2003 – Today at Storage Networking World, Syncsort Incorporated announced that the latest release of Backup Express, their enterprise-wide backup and restore solution for heterogeneous networks, is now available.
Capitalizing on its strategic partnership with Novell to offer the highest level of support for Novell’s NetWare operating system, Backup Express version 2.1.5D includes enhanced functionality for NetWare 6.5, fully exploiting NetWare’s advanced capabilities, including snapshots, pre-script and post-script support, controller node support, and automatic device spanning, ensuring reliable, high-performance backup for the enterprise. The new release also now supports incremental backups of eDirectory 8.7 at the database or disk level.
Backup Express’s increased jukebox support includes support for SDLC 2.2 and 2.3 libraries, and tape drive cleaning on demand (also known as Tape Alert support). Highlights of increased support for database interfaces include support for MS SQL server point-in-time recovery and MS Exchange Store level restore. Further, Backup Express has extended its platform support to encompass the Windows 64-bit client and device server. Additional ease of use is provided by improvements in automatic node configuration and increased robustness in handling network errors.
