DevelopMentor First to Offer Developer Training Courses on Microsoft's Next Generation SQL Server -- "Yukon"

Beginning in February 2004, the Essential SQL Server Yukon course will teach experienced developers how to leverage new features and functionality, resulting in faster completion of development projects. Course instructors are industry veterans Bob Beauchemin and Dan Sullivan, co-authors of a book on SQL Server Yukon that will be published by Addison-Wesley next spring.
Essential SQL Server Yukon offers developers an in-depth look at changes in the database and database client-side APIs that will impact the way they design and write database applications. All of the new server and client programming techniques enabled by SQL Server Yukon and Visual Studio "Whidbey" will be covered, including in-database .NET functionality, native XML storage and query, and security and relational enhancements. Client side enhancements will also be covered, including support of new data types, native SQLXML functions, additions to the .NET XML stack and object-relational mapping through the ObjectSpaces programming model.
The course will also include training on SQL Server Yukon's platform integration features. Via hands-on lab work, developers will learn how and when to use Service Broker, Notification Services, and native Web services with Yukon to build rich applications.
The Essential SQL Server Yukon course will be offered February 2 in Los Angeles, March 8 in Boston and March 15 in London. Developers taking this course should have prior knowledge of SQL Server, and .NET programming experience in VB.NET or C#. Basic XML is recommended.
