QlikTech Brings High-Performance Business Intelligence Capabilites to the 64-bit World

QlikView 6.03 Takes Full Advantage of Intel Itanium 64-bit Architecture

Raleigh, N.C. - February 3, 2004 - QlikTech Inc., a provider of powerful and rapidly deployable business intelligence (BI) software solutions, today announced the release of version 6.03 of its QlikViewT business intelligence software suite. This latest version of QlikView is the first to run on the Intel Itanium 2 64-bit architecture. By expanding its functionality into the emerging world of 64-bit computing, QlikTech has greatly expanded QlikView's capacity to work with larger data sets while offering faster and more flexible BI. QlikView 6.03 also offers a new, thin browser plug-in client for Web users, improved bookmark features, and full drill-down capabilities via charts and graphs, all the way down to the source transactions.

The QlikView 64-bit Edition takes full advantage of the virtually unlimited memory addressability of Intel Corporation's Itanium 2 processor as QlikView's analytical engine, AQLT, operates directly on data loaded into RAM. Itanium's massive execution resources, system bus speed and L3 RAM cache further enhance QlikView's ability to provide outstanding performance and sub-second answers to complex queries, while making it intuitive and easy to use for a wide range of end-users.

The QlikView 6.03 release also includes a new thin plug-in client for Microsoft Internet Explorer which makes it even easier to deploy analytics and reporting solutions for Web users, providing secure socket layer (SSL) protection and seamless integration with Microsoft Office products. QlikTech has also enhanced the reporting and analysis capabilities for users to gain insight from their enterprise data by further improving QlikView's Bookmark capability, which allows end-users to save and share their findings with other users, and its drill-down capabilities, allowing users intuitive access all the way down to individual source transactions by drilling for information in tables, charts and selection boxes.

"We are very excited to bring business intelligence to the 64-bit enterprise," said Christer Berg, president and CEO of QlikTech Inc. "We feel that the growing number of enterprises using the Itanium 2 platform will be looking for solutions that take advantage of their new level of scalability and computing power. QlikView's patented AQL architecture makes it uniquely able to maximize the power of 64-bit processors; allowing these companies to deploy and apply business intelligence and analytics across their enterprise for improved business management and better decision-making."

Powered by QlikTech's patented Associative Query Logic (AQL) technology, QlikView's innovative architecture eliminates the costly and time consuming process of designing, developing and maintaining OLAP cubes and, in most cases, also the need to build and maintain separate data warehouses and data marts. This enables companies to develop and deploy fully functional business intelligence and performance management applications in days rather than the customary weeks or months, resulting in greater flexibility, faster ROI, and lower cost of ownership for enterprises.
