Mainframe DBMSs Become XML Compatible
Interface XML data directly with mainframe DBMSs with the XML Extender options of FireXML
Slough, England. QED Business Systems, established IT service and enterprise middleware solution specialist, today announced a significant addition to the FireXML suite of mainframe XML interfaces, the XML Extender options of FireXML for DB2 and FireXML for CA-Datacom.
The FireXML XML Extender options allow XML formatted data to be added directly to mainframe DBMSs, and for XML formatted files to be created directly from the data in mainframe DBMSs. XML has become the de facto standard for the exchange of data between incompatible and perhaps disparate systems. With the XML Extender options of the FireXML suite, mainframe DBMSs can now be included in this, with data communicated via MQ Series, EDI, ebXML, FTP and sendmail.

Then by using the XML Extenders in standard batch processing, XML formatted data is added directly to, or extracted from, mainframe DBMS tables.
