New Tidal Horizon For SAP Takes Advantage Of Microsoft Operations Manager 2005

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - Aug 25, 2004 - Tidal Software today announced a roadmap for optimizing its Tidal Horizon for SAP product for operation with the new Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 product. Horizon for SAP, when combined with Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005, delivers unprecedented performance and availability management of the popular mySAP® Business Suite of application products and their associated SAP NetWeaver platform.
The current version 1.0 of Horizon is already designed to be integrated with the new MOM 2005 server. The combined solution of Horizon and MOM enables datacenters to monitor and manage performance and availability of their entire SAP application platform landscape throughout the enterprise, regardless of whether SAP applications are running on Microsoft Windows Server or Unix. The solution offers many benefits over the native SAP CCMS monitoring utility or other third-party solutions, including correlation of problem alerts that facilitate root cause analysis, display of helpful diagnostic and remedial information, suppression of uninteresting alerts, and a superior graphical user interface.
Tidal Software intends to continue enhancing Horizon to take advantage of several key features of MOM 2005. Tidal Software plans to incorporate support for the Tasks function of MOM 2005. This function will enable users to initiate tasks that exist in the SAP environment from the MOM 2005 console on-demand, thereby allowing them to troubleshoot SAP problems from the user-friendly Horizon and MOM environment. Tidal Software also intends on building support into Horizon for the state views function of MOM 2005. State Views will enable users to more easily view the status of all SAP server components at-a-glance, such as major SAP application components, associated databases, web servers, etc., with a simple red-light/green-light indication of component health. Tidal Software is preparing to enter the Horizon for SAP product into testing to obtain both Certified for Windows Enterprise Server and SAP Certified status.
