Amtek’s New HP Legacy Support Program Keeps HP3000 Systems Running Smoothly

Affordable program maintains HP3000 platform which HP will abandon next year

Covina, Calif., July 19, 2005 – Amtek Computer Services today introduced its HP Legacy Support Program to provide qualified service and support of HP3000 servers -- a computing platform HP will abandon at the end of next year.

Amtek’s HP Legacy Support provides affordable, ongoing service to companies determined to continue running their business on the HP3000. The program includes flexible maintenance plans, an extensive stockpile of obsolete parts, and nationwide service from an experienced field support staff.

“There are thousands of companies that have invested as much as $1 million in their HP3000 servers and custom application programming in the MPE language. For many of these companies, migrating all of their data and custom applications to Windows or Linux is simply not feasible,” said Amtek’s Director of Sales and Marketing Tim Peterson. “Our HP Legacy Support gives these companies confidence that their HP3000 systems will continue running smoothly for many years to come.”

Amtek has been providing on-site computer repair and maintenance to enterprises nationwide for more than 25 years. Its customers report savings of up to $100,000 per year after freeing themselves from manufacturers’ service contracts.
