NetPro's GPOADmin Cuts Pain of Group Policy Management

Low-cost tool simplifies and automates critical GPO tasks

Phoenix, July 18, 2006 -- NetPro Computing, Inc. today announced the general availability of GPOADmin. A low-cost complement to Microsoft's Group Policy Management Console (GPMC), GPOADmin takes Group Policy administration and management to new levels of simplicity and effectiveness, automating such critical tasks as GPO version control, auditing, and comparison.

"Group Policy is one of the key technologies provided for change and configuration management in Microsoft Windows operating systems," said Brad Hibbert, NetPro's VP of product strategy. According to Hibbert, Group Policy has the potential to benefit each and every person and process within an organization. However, the “heavy lifting” involved in everyday GPO management often prevents organizations from realizing the full potential of Group Policy, not only hindering network effectiveness but also limiting employee productivity.

"With GPOADmin, as with our entire Administration Suite, we've created a tool that simplifies and automates the everyday tasks that can weigh down an IT team," said Hibbert. "Now organizations can experience the full benefits of Active Directory, Group Policy, and their entire Windows infrastructure without straining the IT staff or its budget."

Now available, GPOADmin enhances the power of GPMC, providing significant version-control capabilities, as well as a robust GPO comparison feature, including complete comparisons between GPOs over time and GPO versions both within and across domains. The product features GPO lock capabilities to prevent unwanted changes, a GPO cloak feature designed to hide and protect pre-production GPOs, check-in/check-out for secure editing, advanced searching and reporting, and GPO backup and link restoration.
