Dot Net Factory Releases Free Community Edition of SharePoint Explorer

Internet Explorer add-in provides tree-based interface to all SharePoint sites and content

Dublin, Ohio October 30, 2006 - The Dot Net Factory has released a free unlimited use community edition of their popular SharePoint Explorer Client navigation product. SharePoint Explorer Client Community Edition is an Internet Explorer add-in providing end users and administrators a friendly tree-based interface allowing both novice and expert users to see all SharePoint sites and content at a glance as well as providing right-click menus for all common SharePoint functions.

The right-click menu items displayed on the navigation tree are context sensitive to list the actions a user would perform if they were actually browsing the Server, Site, List, or Document Library. This eliminates wait time and reduces frustration as users have instant access to functions without requiring multiple clicks and page loads to perform their activities. In addition to saving time, this instant-access method can dramatically reduce the load on your SharePoint Servers.

Early adopters of SharePoint have always been strong supporters of The Dot Net Factory. "The Dot Net Factory got its start through the vocal support of SharePoint bloggers using and recommending our Active Directory WebManager delegation tool," says Patrick Parker, president of The Dot Net Factory. WebManager has evolved to become part of a complete suite of identity and access-management solution Web parts offered by The Dot Net Factory. His development team thought providing SharePoint Explorer Client free to the SharePoint community was the best was to say thank you and to enhance the manageability and navigability of SharePoint for quicker SharePoint user adoption.

SharePoint Explorer Community edition was previously sold at $65.00 per seat but can be downloaded free from The Dot Net Factory Website at http://www.thedotnetfactory.com

SharePoint Explorer supports both SharePoint 2003 versions and 2007. For more information about SharePoint Explorer Community Edition or The Dot Net Factory please contact Bill Baldwin.
