Securent EMS v3.0 Extends Granular Access Controls to Databases, Microsoft SharePoint, and Key Enterprise Apps

Helps organizations manage security and satisfy compliance regulations

Securent, Inc. today released Securent Entitlement Management Solution (EMS). The product helps organizations meet security and compliance requirements by securing user access to sensitive applications and data.

Leveraging the Extensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) standard, Securent EMS v3.0 adds “consistent and seamless policy enforcement to databases, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, to complement existing policy enforcement capabilities at the application and presentation layers.” Securent EMS v3.0 can integrate with and protect popular applications, including Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, JBoss Portal 2.4 and 2.6, and BEA WebLogic Portal 9.2.

Securent EMS is scalable up to “millions of users and thousands of applications deployed across hundreds of sites,” the company says. EMS components use standards-compliant interfaces and can be deployed independently in co-located, distributed, and federated configurations, which enables Securent EMS to manage, enforce, and audit entitlements for mainframes, networking, storage, and grid computing environments.

The company says the product “provides a more scalable and cost-effective alternative to custom coding of fine-grained access controls into applications.”
