Embarcadero Updates Change Manager

High-speed, cross-platform tool addresses full database change management lifecycle

Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. has released Change Manager 4.0 that includes schema, data, and configuration tools so database professionals can manage database changes more efficiently. Using Change Manager 4.0, database administrators (DBAs) and developers can quickly identify changes when “migrating databases, diagnosing database performance issues, or validating replicated data,” according to the company. Features include:

  • Change Manager CM/Data is a high-speed data compare and synchronization tool that compares, validates, and synchronizes data in a single or across database platform(s). CM/Data helps “manage data differences, validate data replication, and ensure reference data is accurate across multiple applications,” the Embarcadero Technologies says.

  • Change Manager CM/Config compares and monitors database configuration attributes across databases in an enterprise. CM/Config quickly identifies settings that have changed and settings that are not in compliance with corporate standards or regulatory procedures.

  • Change Manager CM/Schema t compares, reports, and reconciles database schemas. It can compare any two database schemas and find, analyze and report the differences.

Change Manager 4.0 provides cross-platform support for Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, and IBM DB2 databases in Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments. Change Manager can interface with job schedulers to capture schema, data, and configuration changes. Introductory pricing in North America begins at $795 per user.
