Tidal Launches Horizon for PeopleSoft v1.8

Provides automated, reproducible approach to finding performance problems

Tidal Software has launched Horizon for PeopleSoft, an update to its enterprise-class application performance management software that provides greater visibility into performance problems within any tier of the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture.

Horizon uses workflows are triggered when an event or message within PeopleSoft indicates a performance problem. The workflows are “models” of what an expert PeopleSoft administrator would do to find the root cause of a problem, providing IT a logical and reproducible approach to monitoring important systems and lowering problem resolution time by 50 to 90 percent, according to the company.

Horizon workflows capture and store data relevant to the problem and creates a Web-enabled diagnostic report that describes the problem and can be shared across all functional groups in an organization. Using the PeopleSoft Performance Monitor Interface (PPMI), Horizon captures messages and events from PeopleSoft systems. This interface, free to PeopleSoft customers, provides metrics from the system and requires no agents on any monitored component. The approach means no foreign code is needed on a production system and no time is spent upgrading agents.

Over 50 PeopleSoft performance problems can be identified out of the box, including those in the Web server, Tuxedo, and the database.
