Accellion Releases Virtual Appliance for Secure File Transfer

Enables users to send and receive files in a format that meets strict security, privacy requirements

Accellion, Inc. today announced what it says is the industry’s first virtual appliance for secure file transfer that helps companies securely and efficiently transmit large digital files.

Companies without secure processes to manage the flow of digital files may find users turning to third-party, unsecured workarounds to transfer their files. Accellion is extending to companies moving towards virtualization a way to manage secure large-file transfers in a way that is similar to virtualization efforts.

The Accellion virtual appliance operates identically to the company's hardware-based appliance. Sporting an easy-to-use interface, the product can be used by customers to quickly send and receive files in a format that meets the strictest security and privacy requirements. It can track and report on activities to help customers document conformance to security and compliance requirements for electronic file transfers. Virtual and hardware-based appliances work together seamlessly.

Availability and Pricing

The Accellion Secure File Transfer Virtual Appliance is available immediately in multiple models, with pricing pricing for the virtual appliance starting at $2,000 per year. Fees for end-user licenses and configurable items (such as LDAP integration, custom branding, and automation agents) are extra.
