Updated GFI MailArchiver Includes PST Migration Tool, Auditing Functionality

Feature ensures archived mail has not been tampered with

GFI's latest update to its e-mail management and archiving product, GFI MailArchiver for Exchange, adds auditing functionality to ensure that all archived e-mails have not been tampered with and adds a PST migration tool to access old PST files on client machines. GFI MailArchiver 5 now can archive all company e-mail, reducing dependency on PST files, and permits employees to access old and deleted e-mails anywhere at any time. The product helps enterprises meet e-discovery and compliance requirements.

GFI notes Osterman Research reports that show 75 percent of U.S. companies expect to use an archiving solution by 2008, up from 20 percent in 2005. “The new version of GFI MailArchiver has been designed to meet the requirements of our clients and to strengthen our position in a market that is growing at a very fast pace as more companies are seeing the importance of having an e-mail management and archiving solution, according to David Vella, director of product management at GFI.

GFI MailArchiver helps network administrators avoid PST file management problems by reducing a company’s dependency on such files. All e-mail is stored in a central location that is easily accessible from a Web browser, so PST issues are decreased. The upgrade includes a new PST migration tool to users can access e-mail messages stored in old PST files on users’ machines.

GFI MailArchiver natively integrates with Microsoft Exchange 2007 and supports 64-bit Microsoft operating systems. Pricing starts at $675.00 for 25 mailboxes.
