AlgoSec Releases Four Firewall Analyzer Suite Editions
Automates PCI and SOX compliance reports, offers rule re-ordering suggestions to improve firewall performance
AlgoSec Inc. released its AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer (AFA) product suite that improves the security and efficiency of enterprise firewalls. The suite is built on three distinct software modules, each focused on addressing specific technical requirements: firewall operations management, policy optimization and risk management.
AlgoSec includes new PCI-DSS and SOX compliance reports that ease the paperwork burden on firewall administrators and auditors while providing necessary reports. The company also now uses a new algorithm to provide intelligent rule re-ordering recommendations based on historical rule usage statistics; it helps improve firewall policy efficiency and reduces CPU utilization of firewall devices.

The AFA suite is offered in four bundles:
AFA Operations Management Edition is built on the core AFA software module which is standard across all editions; it supports the daily operational activities and change management requirements of firewall administrators and helps them maintain detailed change history reports for all firewall configurations
The AFA Optimization Edition includes the full feature set of the Operations Management Edition plus the optional Optimization software module; this provides reports and recommendations for improving firewall configuration efficiency, including the new Intelligent Rule Re-Ordering algorithm
The AFA Risk Management Edition consists of same features as the Operations Management Edition as well as the optional Risk Management software module which helps users quickly assess the security of their firewall configurations and ensure all devices meet their specific security controls.
AFA Enterprise Edition is the version that all three of the available software modules into a single solution so enterprises can address their firewall operations management, policy optimization, and risk management requirements.
