PowerTech Releases Version 3.0 of Interact
Latest release features improved IP tracking and over 20 new event types
The PowerTech Group recently made available version 3.0 of PowerTech Interact, the company's event-reporting solution for IBM i servers.
Interact reports security events in IBM i Servers in real-time, giving companies access to up-to-date information on their server activity. This latest version features an improved IP tracking capability that sends real-time alerts on IP activity -- helpful for protecting against unauthorized account access, for example, the company said.
Version 3.0 also includes a "significantly smaller installation footprint," the company said in a press release. It also features more than 20 new event types, such as command and job monitoring, as well as support for the IBM i Licensed Product Program..
PowerTech is also touting Interact as "the most interoperable OS/400 solution on the market," owing to its support of Syslog. The product can also send event logs from the IBM i server to other event management products by a wide variety of vendors, including CA, Cisco, Symantc, Novell, and others.
"Since we releaed version 2.0 last year, the market has embraced Interact enthusiastically because of its ability to transmit events in real-time to enterprise security consoles," said PowerTech CEO John Earl in a prepared statement. "Security and network staff appreciate that OS/400 security events are passed to a meaningful description that they can understand."
