Splunk Releases Management Tool for Virtualized Environments
Splunk for VMware gives users real-time views into their entire IT infrastructure
Splunk this week made available Splunk for VMware, a management tool for VMware-virtualized servers.
According to the company, Splunk for VMware uses its "IT Search" technology to give users a complete, real-time view into their IT infrastructure, from its servers to its applications. The result, the company said, is more a proactive problem-resolution process, faster troubleshooting times, and an increase in compliance.
Splunk for VMware features more than 25 out-of-the-box dashboards, searches, reports and alerts for monitoring important metrics, as well as a VMware API. The tool supports all stages of the virtualization deployment lifecycle, the company said.
"With our new application specifically for VMware, Splunk enables IT staff to collect, analyze and report on data across their entire infrastructure -- including virtualized environments," said Christina Noren, Splunk's vice president of product management, in a prepared statement. "Only by consolidating all the logs and information across the infrastructure can IT professionals effectively manage their computing environments."
