AppAssure Releases Replay AppImage 3.0
Latest release includes support for Windows Server 2008 and virtual recovery capabilities
Backup and recovery solution provider AppAssure recently released version 3.0 of Replay AppImage, an application-protection product for Windows.
According to the company, Replay AppImage gives "constant application imaging" for a variety of Windows applications, including Exchange, SharePoint, and SQL Server. The new release also includes support for Windows Server 2008.
The product lets companies perform live restores of Windows applications using "off-host processing." Replay AppImage also includes the Replay Application Stanby for ESX feature, which lets companies "leverage virtual machines to provide cost-effective high availability for Windows applications," the company said in a press release.
Other features include an add-on that lets users quickly restore images of disparate hardware, an "application-consistent snapshot" tool, and compression and de-duplication capabilities.
"Traditional backup solutions can monopolize hours of valuable administration time -- and still end up delivering unpredictable recoveries," said AppAssure CEO Naj Husain in a statement. "Replay AppImage has been developed to deliver predictable application recovery from any failure in minutes. Our customers see up to 30 percent reduction in CAPEX [capital expenditure] and OPEX [operational expenditure] because of dramatically lower storage costs and operational efficiencies from ... administrative teams."
