Lighthouse Debuts SaaS-Based Security Solution for Enterprises

Lighthouse Gateway promises to cost as much as 60 percent less than in-house security solutions

Lighthouse Security Group recently debuted the SaaS-based Lighthouse Gateway enterprise security solution.

According to the company, Lighthouse Gateway is based on IBM's Tivoli technology for identity and access management. As a SaaS product, it was designed to deliver comprehensive enterprise security management at a fraction of the cost of traditional in-house implementations -- as much as 30 to 60 percent less over the first three years, the company said in a press release.

Through its self-service interface, Lighthouse Gateway lets users define and manage their access control policies, reset passwords, and perform other common tasks using simple point-and-click technology. It can also integrate with existing identity management repositories, or it can function as a company's identity management system.

Its security features include DNS protection, intrusion detection, and Border Gateway Protocol monitoring.

"As identity and access management become ever more critical ... the costs and investment to keep up with these technologies are mounting for most companies," said Eric Maass, Lighthouse's director of enterprise security solutions, in the release. "We strongly believe that the SaaS approach of the Gateway ... will enable us to deliver a best-of-breed, turnkey solution for a fraction of the conventional cost of ownership."
