ActiveBatch Version 7 Released

Updates include expanded jobs libraries, SOA capabilities and power-saving features

Advanced Systems Concepts Inc. has released version 7 of ActiveBatch, a workload automation and job-scheduling solution.

The latest version features SOA and Web services capabilities that let companies integrate their databases, applications and platforms without the need for scripts. The tools also allow for easier integration of internal and external Web services.

Version 7 also includes expanded jobs libraries, including those for SQL Server, FTP, Symantec BackupExec, Oracle, and more.

Other features include updated event triggers (including e-mail-based triggers), change management capabilities that allow for the movement of objects between environments, and a power-saving feature that automatically hibernates servers as needed.

"We've structured ActiveBatch v7 to meet today's IT landscape, wherein both highly intricate computing needs and the realities of reduced manpower are manifesting themselves," said Jim Manias, Advanced Systems Concepts' vice president of sales and marketing, in a press release. "Version 7 helps users and developers deal with these realities with some fo the most useful development tools yet."
