NetEx today announced a new solution that overcomes bandwidth limits of replicating and recovering data from cloud storage sites with HyperIP for Cloud Data Transport.

Cloud storage customers often struggle with the trade-off between high costs for more bandwidth or extended recovery time objectives for restoring files after a system or local-storage failure. HyperIP for Cloud eliminates this issue by enabling enterprises to move or replicate vast amounts of critical information using their common Ethernet and TCP/IP networks.

“The appealing value proposition of cloud storage rapidly disappears if customers can’t recover data on a timely basis during a disaster recovery operation,” said Robert MacIntyre, vice president of business development and marketing at NetEx. “HyperIP for Cloud is a simple and highly effective solution to the bandwidth limitations related to replicating and recovering data from cloud storage repositories.”

HyperIP for Cloud provides a business continuity and disaster recovery optimization solution for backup, recovery, and data replication applications. NetEx offers HyperIP for Cloud as a plug-and-play appliance and Virtual HyperIP for VMware, a software-only configuration, enabling customers to quickly deploy the acceleration software into their existing VMware infrastructures.

Patent-pending technology accelerates and optimizes data replication and file transfer applications by aggregating multiple data replication applications over a shared connection while mitigating the inherent network latency and network disruption for long-distance remote TCP data transmissions. HyperIP for Cloud supports long-distance data transfers at up to 800 Mb/s, which is faster than competitive products. Transfer speed is optimized for the full range of data management applications, including backup and remote replication and business continuance/disaster recovery (BC/DR).

HyperIP for cloud Recovery on Demand feature opens up virtually unlimited bandwidth to speed data recovery operations from the cloud when a disaster hits. HyperIP appliances and virtual appliances are sold in a variety of scalable configurations, based on bandwidth required with data rates ranging from 1 Mb/s up to 800 Mb/s. Under the Recovery on Demand program, if a HyperIP for Cloud user experiences a major failure, NetEx will provide the customer with a free software key with unlimited bandwidth for 10 days. The user can then run HyperIP-accelerated data recovery operations at up to 800 Mb/s with no additional license fees.
