PreEmptive Solutions has announced support for Visual Studio 2010.

"The extensibility of Visual Studio 2010 and Dotfuscator's ability to measure and manage applications ‘in the wild' takes user-centered design to an entirely new level," said Gabriel Torok, president of PreEmptive Solutions. "Integrating application analytics into the development process leads straight to improved software quality, user-centered development practices, and increased return on development investments."
Specifically, these features are available:

  • Dotfuscator Suite, the commercial edition, is fully integrated into Visual Studio 2010 providing usage analytics, tamper defense, obfuscation, and end-of-life behaviors for any .NET framework assembly. Developers can monitor and measure the applications post-release regardless of delivery platform or form factor.

  • Dotfuscator CE, the community edition included with Visual Studio 2010 (all versions but Express), has been expanded to include feature and session level monitoring, end of life expiry, and tamper defense. Every Visual Studio 2010 user now has application monitoring readily available as a standard component of their Visual Studio 2010 platform.

  • The Runtime Intelligence Service can deliver end-user application usage data back to development where it can be surfaced inside the Visual Studio 2010 Architect Explorer and Code Editor. Architects, developers, and testers can have access to actual usage data when it will have the most impact inside their development experience.

Pricing for the Dotfuscator Suite for a large development team starts at $10,000 USD. Runtime Intelligence is offered as a service or as an installed option starting at $350 per month for the service. The Dotfuscator Community Edition is offered at no additional fee with Visual Studio 2010 (all editions except Express).
